<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus</a> appears to be the target of a 911 prank: According to reports, LAPD officers rushed to the singer's Los Angeles home Wednesday after someone called about a possible home invasion, but there was no home invasion and no sign of danger when they arrived.According to <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/08/01/miley-cyrus-swatting-home-invasion-lapd-false-alarm/" target="_blank">TMZ</a>, police received a call around 6:50 p.m. PT that someone had possibly broken into Cyrus' home and that there might have been shots fired. When the cops arrived, with their guns drawn, they found no one home and determined it was a false alarm.Now, law enforcement officials are saying the only crime committed was something known as "swatting," which is when a "911 abuser" attempts to trick law enforcement to dispatch units by calling in a serious crime. The prankster, officials add, can be charged with a crime and arrested in connection with the "swat." Additionally, if someone was hurt or killed in the process, those charges could become more serious.A spokesperson for the LAPD told <a href="http://www.gossipcop.com/miley-cyrus-home-invasion-prank-911-call-gunshots-swatting-police-cops-lapd-august-2012/" target="_blank">Gossip Cop</a>, "We believed there was a crime in progress." They are now investigating the matter to determine who placed the call.A rep for the singer/actress had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time. The usually outspoken star also hasn't addressed the incident on her Twitter account.
