Actor Cary Elwes will make his directorial debut on an as yet untitled biopic about Kit Lambert, the famed manager of The Who says THR.



Lambert discovered The Who when he was trying to make a film about a young London band. He and Chris Stamp pushed lead member Pete Townshend to take the group into more experimental territory, the result is seminal rock opera album called  Tommy,which was adapted for the 1975 Ken Russell film.

Townsend and bandmate Roger Daltrey have both read Pat Gilbert's script and will contribute biographical details,

Orian Williams will produce. 

Production hopes to kick off late Spring in the United Kingdom.
